I haven’t been posting on here for a while, mainly because I’ve been busy. School’s coming up soon, and I need to be ready. I’m also working on my other blog, “Yes, ThatAweSomeBlog”, making posts over there, such like that. I will be making more posts soon, I just need to get myself situated. So, expect there to be delays every now and again.

It’s rare that I look at the “Latest Headlines” tab in Mozilla Firefox, but ever since I started up Newseration, I decided to look at it a bit more to keep up with news to talk about, and this is what I found. I was shocked to say the least. I never really imagined that this would happen after the protests, but it turns out that this country is a country of surprises.

Facts dispute biased smear of Netherlands, facts get spun anyways.

A YouTube user named roberwter, or Robbert, created this video in response to Bill O’ Reilly (and all of his friends) factless smear over the Netherlands, and in particular, Amsterdam.

Well, Robbert got the idea to compare statistics to see if these claims had any backing to them. He compared The percent of people who have used cannabis, The homicide rate, and the number of drug related deaths for both the USA, and the Netherlands. For each one, the USA got the higher percentage.

O’ Reilly aired an extremely edited version of this video on his August 4th broadcast, leaving out the drug related deaths.

A youtube user who goes by the name LiberalViewer addressed this in his most recent video, showing the parts Papa Bear edited out, even bringing up some very funny points along the way.

Now, I have a question.
Was it fair for O’ Reilly to edit the video to such an extent? I mean, Fox News is a news organization, right? Shouldn’t they be doing their best to report the truth, not spin the truth to the point where you don’t know what is the truth anymore?

Disney registers Monsters Inc. 2 URL-Could Be Forcing Sequel?

Recently, I was at /Film, and I found this story about Disney registering several different domains for possible future movies, one of which being Monsters Inc. 2. This confused me, as I thought Monsters Inc was a great standalone movie, that didn’t need any sequel, but Disney, being the master of unnecessary sequels, seems to deem it appropriate for this movie that left no room for a sequel, to have a sequel. DOES NOT COMPUTE!!

However, this reminded me of Toy Story 3. Originally, Toy Story 3 wasn’t even in the hands of Pixar, but Disney’s division of CGI, Circle 7 Animation. This movie wasn’t even in Pixar’s hands until February 8, 2007, where it was announced that instead of John Lasseter, Lee Unkrich, co-creator of Toy Story 2, would have directorial power.

My point is that Pixar originally NEVER had anything to do with this movie, but it wasn’t until later that they had a creative hand in this film. Disney pretty much literally started this sequel, and with all the movies Pixar is working on, it was almost a sequel that Pixar didn’t really need.
Sure, It’s Pixar, and there’s no doubt that Toy Story 3 will be wonderful, but I really just feel as if Disney just forced this sequel on Pixar.

The same thing I feel with Monsters Inc. 2. As I said, Monsters Inc as a great standalone film, it needs no sequel. But Disney apparently doesn’t see that at all. In fact, what Pixar themselves say about sequels for their movies completely contradicts Disney’s possible sequel pandering.

For my closing, I’ll use an outdated meme, with the words changed a bit. A meme parody. A memeody.
Disney, Pixar is not something you just dump something on. Pixar is not a big truck. It’s a bunch of brilliant people!

“Teens don’t tweet” creates uproar among teenage twits.

If you’ve been on Twitter at all today, you’d notice that a high up trending topic is a three word statement reading, “Teens Don’t Tweet”. This was all because of this mashable article which was based off of data from this Nielsen report blog post which was done because of THIS report by 15-year-old Morgan Stanley intern, Matthew Robson, and somehow it all links back to Kevin Bacon (I kid).

Because of the Mashable article, teenage community on twitter has gone bananas, posting things like:

DDCAM teens don’t tweet. What a fucking retarded trending topic. I tweet occasionally, I’m a teen

BlackHeartWhore Teens Don’t Tweet – then explain what the fuck I’m doing.

AND SO FORTH.

This has even gotten so bad that there’s a REBELLION taking place tomorrow. A DING DONGED REBELLION!

Personally, I don’t see any point to this rebellion. Basically, not tweeting in reply to to saying you don’t tweet is like not eating in reply to being told you don’t eat, or not making a good movie in reply to being told you don’t make good movies, it just doesn’t make sense!
If you want to prove a point, Tweet more to show that you do tweet! Tweeting less to show that you do tweet just doesn’t make sense!

You don’t need to rebel for this, even mashable wasn’t expecting such an uproar over the article, even going so far as to post a followup article explaining WHY teens don’t tweet, a good amount of time after posting this response to the original article on their twitter account:

I personally don’t see the point in this rebellion. While the mashable article WAS entitled “Stats confirm it: Teens Don’t Tweet”, The majority that the teens were lumped into was a 16% majority that included internet users from 2-24 out of a 250,000 person sample size, and according to the followup article and personal calculations, only 720 of that 250,000 person sample size used twitter. That means every one out of 347.2222222222222(INFINITY) people in that group used twitter. And do you want to know which part of the group used twitter the least?
Guess.
People aged 12-17. Teenagers. They have the lowest score with 59/720 or 1/12.203389830508474.
Technically, this doesn’t mean that teens as a whole don’t use twitter, but they just aren’t as abundant on twitter as most adults.

Teens don’t need to get up in arms about this, because it’s just a study, It’s it no way a personal dig towards them in any way, but the teens just love creating drama for no clear reason.
